PanGEO, Inc., a Seattle-based geotechnical engineering firm, is seeking entry-level to mid-level geologists/geotechnical field technicians. Ideal candidates for the entry level position should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 0 to 5 years of experience.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated education or field experience in geology, engineering geology, geotechnical construction monitoring, and Puget Sound geology. Depending on your assignment and skill set, you may perform the following work:
- Field monitoring and oversight of earthwork and earthwork construction, soldier piles, tiebacks, and soil nails.
- Field logging and managing drilling and test pit exploration programs for a variety of projects.
Minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Must possess a minimum of a BS in geology or engineering geology.
- Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and schedules.
- Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite.
- The ability to work as part of a team in an open office environment and independently in the field, follow instructions, and accept constructive feedback.
- The ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 pounds of field equipment and materials.
- The ability to traverse uneven and steep terrain.
- Comfort working outdoors around heavy earthwork equipment and traffic in all weather conditions.
- A valid Washington State driver’s license and a personal vehicle.
Desired qualifications for this position are:
- 0-5 years field experience in geotechnical construction monitoring and field exploration.
- GIT is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of site work and earthwork construction techniques.
